The Testcenter Rhein-Main GmbH is a spin-off company of the Technische Universität Darmstadt. The aim of the spin-off is to transfer scientific methods into economic and technological use. The cooperation is regulated by a cooperation agreement with the TU Darmstadt. Technology transfer requires a license agreement in each individual case.

The Testcenter Rhein-Main (TRM) GmbH was founded in 2011 at the Institute of Automotive Engineering department of the TU Darmstadt. The managing director of TRM GmbH, Dr.-Ing. Norbert Fecher is also senior engineer in the Institute of Automotive Engineering (FZD). This extremely close collaboration with FZD and the head of the department, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Steven Peters has created an ideal basis for a successful technology transfer prior to university research towards economic establishment on the market.
